A visit from an oil or gas company representative can be an intimidating experience for landowners who have no prior involvement with the oil and gas industry. Many landowners do not have the legal or technical background to know what rights they have, what levels of compensation they can demand, and what sorts of impacts oil and gas development might have on their lives and livelihoods.
The Oil and Gas Accountability Project has written this guide for landowners, to help demystify the oil and gas development process and provide landowners with a greater knowledge of the laws that pertain to oil and gas development.
